The Old Bakery, Cobham

Set in the idyllic Surrey countryside, The Old Bakery is a secluded Grade II listed property with a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Over the years, various modern extensions had been added, and our clients sought to restore the original structure, highlighting the enchanting old bakery at the rear.

During the main house’s refurbishment, we carefully revealed and assessed the historic bakery's structural condition. Upon confirming its deterioration, we facilitated the strengthening and preservation of the existing solid timber framework and original walls. Authentic materials, such as matching clay roof tiles and traditional drainage systems, were sourced to honour the building's heritage. The space now features heritage-style doors that open to the gardens, housing a beautifully updated kitchen and dining area that seamlessly integrates modern family living with the property’s historical essence.
