Bevel Extension, Elmbridge

This project beautifully demonstrates how a modern addition can completely transform the character and functionality of a property. Tasked with securing planning permission, we began by carefully removing the existing garage wall for construction, later reinstating it to integrate seamlessly with the new extension.

The highlight of the design is the new kitchen and breakfast room, featuring full-height glazing around the perimeter to flood the space with natural light. A sleek glass link connects the extension to the main house, creating a contemporary yet cohesive feel. Despite the limitation of no roof light in the extension, we introduced a large-format bevel profile, strategically guiding natural light into the interior and enhancing the open, airy atmosphere.
