The Courtyard Extension

Located in London, this refurbishment and extension of a 19th-century semi-detached property was designed to establish a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, reflecting our client's passion as a landscape designer.

The ground floor features a backdrop of bare brick and exposed timber, enhancing the lush greenery throughout the interior. Full-width Crittall-style windows and doors invite abundant natural light into the space, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. The surrounding courtyard is framed by fully opening doors, which blur the boundaries between interior and exterior and include a new artist studio.

Carefully chosen materials complement the existing house, creating harmony between the historic property, the contemporary extension, and the beautifully landscaped courtyard, enriched by selected trees and foliage.
